By ethnicity I am Hungarian from the beautiful capital city of Budapest. Since my early childhood I had a dream to become a diplomat. Dad was a diplomat and the family travelled extensively round the world. Having lived for 11 years altogether in India and Indonesia I gained high level qualifications in English and Russian languages and an M.A. degree in Russian Linguistics.
After graduation I started work at a Hungarian tourist agency and various international trading companies in Budapest. Got my B.Com degree at an evening course and finally had the opportunity to do for a living what I had dreamt of. I enjoyed my new job. Later I was promoted, concluded export deals, and extensively travelled to Europe, India and Japan.
In 2000 my wife and I got an invitation to introduce the Alpha Course, a British Christian Educational Method in the Hungarian Church and Hungarian speeking churches in Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia. We had to start from scratch and reach out to all denominations. The task looked daunting but also rewarding. We could not resist the temptation and gave up our prospering business to take up the Alpha project. It has become the most rewarding enterprise in our lives. For 8 years I was National Director of Alpha Hungary. We reached out to all denominations. The course has regularly been used by about 200 communities when the charity was given over.
In 2008 we got a new challenge. We were offerred the positions of a marketing and programme manager to boost the revenue of the Training Centre of a Charity. This was a complex, innovative project. New activities e.g. translation, publishing, wholesale and retails of own books, launching an offline bookshop, launching a brand new contemporary website, development and sale of accomodation, meals, programmes, venues etc. have been introduced. By the second year the rate of overall utilization of the facilities of the training centre rose from 20% to 60%.
When personal computers were introduced in my company at the end of the eighties I was among the first ones to figure out how they replace manual work. I have always been fascinated by new computer technology. I came across online marketing while working for the training centre. I fell in love with the method at first sight. Seeds of plans to start my own online marketing business have been sown. I carefully studied all I could to find out about it and has been determined to start my internet marketing business.
In England I have come across plenty of websites, which explain and teach you about how to start and sustain an internet based business from home. I was sold to the idea right away but, frankly speaking, did not have the persistance to make the business profitable. Until about recently I made a firm decision not to give up my dream and hold on until the first fruits are produced. During the last couple of years I have acquired lot of knowledge, information, insight. I have got 4000 Twitter followers and several Facebook pages. I wanna continue learning and pass on whatever have already learnt to likeminded and enthusiastic home business owners so that they also could fulfil their dreams and do business via the internet from home.
In 1990 the Berlin Wall fell, socialism collapsed in all of Eastern Europe. A new area dawned to Hungary, too, the era of free market enterprise. With my Indian friends I formed a private company and started importing quality garments from India. The factories were in the hands of the family of the majority shareholder of the company. Though sales started to grow, the demand for our goods was great, From the beginning I had to struggle with my partners because of late shipment. After 3 years of operation the company had to be closed down.
I lost my job as managing director. By this time I have learnt much about garment trade, so took a bold step and opened a stall at a market place selling Indian and Chinese garments in retail and wholesale trade. The business went very well for a couple of years.
Following an argument with my supplier I quit and started a new business making use of my expertise in languages, teaching and translation. Business prospered for a couple of years.
In 2011 the charity faced financial hardships, our backlog of salaries grew to 6 month. Had to find a solution to make our ends meet. At the beginning of 2012 my wife got a job offer from England for the position of Administration Manager at a church. In the summer our family relocated to the beautiful Weston-super-Mare on the West Coast of England.
I started my own business, retail and direct sale of Hungarian fusion glass gift items. I launched a website with a webshop and made sales also on Ebay.
Unfortunately after the holiday season the market plummetted and I fell seriously ill for a long time. I had to give up my business plans for a while.
For 3 years I worked for Hilton. Then I was employed as Brand Ambassador for field marketing companies at Mark and Spencer and Sainsbury’s as self-employed distributor, delivery driver, and warehouse operative.
